Spray Tanning

se-mu036

I received a diploma for spray tanning at The Beauty Academy in Birmingham back in 2008. Spray tanning gives you the colour you want without having to worry about those harmful rays that cause premature aging and skin cancer.

Product

I am currently using ‘Crazy Angel’. Crazy Angels’ innovative formulations achieve fabulous sun free results. The tanning industry experts at Crazy Angel Headquarters, have developed a beautiful and angelic tan. It is attained through naturally derived DHA and Erythrulose without the use of Alcohol, Parabens or Mineral Oil. Bearberry extracts soften and caress you skin whilst leaving your halo intact.

I have a selection of light & dark shades.

Preparation

Preparing for your tan will increase the lasting time of your tan. Spray Tanning solution affects only dead skin cells so it is important that you exfoliate prior to application. Use either an exfoliating glove or product that doesn’t contain oils. An oily barrier can prevent the spray tanning solution getting through and will therefore not be as effective.

In order to get the best results, I personally recommend preparing your skin the night before. I would also advise you shave your legs the night before, or if waxing, two nights before.

PLEASE NOTE: Shaving your legs after a spray tanning session will remove some of the tanning product. Avoid wearing deodorant, moisturiser or makeup before spray tanning as they can act as a barrier, stopping the full amount of the solution from attaching itself to the skin.

During your tan you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Knickers, bra, swim wear, topless or even nude is fine. Just remember the tan will get on the garments. It should wash out but cannot be guaranteed, so keep this in mind when deciding what to wear. I do supply hair nets and sticky feet.

Care

Your tan will take approximately 20 minutes. After your tan I will spend a few minutes drying you with the fan. The tan needs to set so wear loose dark clothing, i.e. Baggy T-shirt, joggers, pyjamas, flip flops etc. Although most tans say they set 1-3 hours usually your tan can take up to 5-7 hours to set properly; therefore I would recommend having your tan applied during the evening. You can sleep in it then shower as usual in the morning.

Keeping the skin moist with a great moisturiser after each shower will ensure the tan lasts longer. The skin naturally exfoliates each day just as it would after regular sun tanning, so keeping it moist & supple is the key for a longer lasting tan. It will last 5-7 days depending on the care.

PLEASE NOTE: Treatment is not suitable for anyone experiencing psoriasis, eczema, cuts, and abrasions or during the first three months of pregnancy.
